My mother's drinking has escalated over the past year and now it is clearly out of control. I am going to my mother's this weekend and my brothers and I will intervene. It seems that I must take the lead on this and I'm sure it will be most unpleasant. Please pray for my mother, Jean.

Also, our finances and timing aren't working out well this month. I just found out that I've been accepted to the St. Stephen's program but it is unlikely that we'll have the tuition to send this month. So I am probably going to have to put it off until next year. It is not the end of the world but I am disappointed. Your prayers are appreciated.

God have mercy on you, Joe, and bless you: especially regarding your mom. May God also have mercy on you regarding the St. Stephen program and the disappointment.

Lord have mercy !!!

May the Theotokos intercede on your behalf !

My prayers to our Lord, whom through ALL things are possible for you Joe. May He assist you from above in helping your mother. May her drinking problem be healed.

I also pray to God that something will pop up to help you pay for your tuition.

Through the intercessions of our blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of our God,

AMEN!

I will talk with my parish priest and have him offer a Divine Liturgy for your family, and I will also offer my daily prayers up for your intentions. May God give you the strength to do what must be done, trust in Him always.

Thank you very much brother. Nothing is more powerful than the prayer of the Liturgy. God bless you.

I add my prayers for the recovery of your Mom. If not altogether quitting, which could be very difficult, moderation seems at this time possible and should be acceptable.

Joe, you always have my prayers. I too have chemical abuse issues in my family. I understand them, only too well. I will pray for you and your religious education. I think you do have a calling. - Lance

Through the intercession of St. Maximilian Kolbe, I offer my prayers for your mom.

Through the intercession of St. Stephen, I offer my prayers that you'll get the funds together to re-enter.

Joe,

You are in my daily prayers and I will specifically remember you and your mother this weekend. May the Lord miraculously provide tuition for the St Stephen's program. God bless!

God bless all of you, thank you so much.

I went to see my priest yesterday just to chat about things and he asked me about the St. Stephen's program and I told him the situation. He pulled out his checkbook and wrote me a check. Thank God for your prayers and his generosity. He is rather enthusiastic about my doing the program and seeking ordination.

Now, the difficult thing will be this weekend and trying to get my mother where she needs to be.
