The shades of the forgotten ancestors

I am at work at the moment so I can't download it here. Does anyone know if it can be downloaded and then put on a DVD? Or am I dreaming in technology??

The music for the Panachida for Ivan at the end of the film sounds like the Subcarpathian melody for "So duchi pravednymi"!

It is an interesting movie indeed. It probably was only seen by the members of the Soviet Academy of Arts when it was made in 1964. Very interesting movie showing the many superstitions of the Eastern Slavs of the Carpathians!

I bought the "Shadows" dvd from Ebay. It is released by petrovka.ua and very high quality. It is in the PAL format so it only plays on computer dvd drives and not western hemisphere brand dvd players. You can even select to have a "Great Russian" language over dubbing narration. I prefer to listen to the Hutsul dialect. Well worth the $20.33.
