The American wing of TAC is the Anglican Church in America (ACA) (
website [
acahome.org]). The Anglican Catholic Church (ACC) (
website [
anglicancatholic.org]) came out of the original continuing movement 30 years ago, beginning with the Affirmation of St. Louis, along with the Anglican Province of Christ the King (APCK). The ACA splintered from the ACC and also has lines of succession from the Polish National Catholic Church. (ACA and PNCC churches will refer their members to one another when traveling.)
The differences? The ACC (Original Province) is actually more High Church than the ACA, which had a broad churchmanship most of its history. I think all ACC parishes use the Anglican Missal. In the ACA, missal use is less common, with some churches using the straight '28 BCP and a high number of parish hybrids; I know at least one ACA parish uses the
Novus Ordo Mass. Not all ACA members are on board with talk of corporate union with Rome, and some have already jumped ship as a result. I think TAC has a much larger membership than members of ACC, mostly due to member affiliates overseas.
That's essentially it. There are many good people in both communions. Hope that helps.
