And what particular Rite is it ? I go to a Ukrainian Catholic Church probably 3 Sundays out of every 4, and sadly the attendance is probably around 90 people.

Antiochian Orthodox and it varies, usually about 125-150 I think. I believe it might be as much as 200 on rare occasion.

Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic, on average a Sunday Liturgy will have about 20 people. For the Knights of Columbus Sunday once per month the attendance goes up to about 40. For the healing Paraklis each month there are over 100 persons.

Why would you say sadly...the Church should not be based on the number of people sitting in the pews (if there are any wink )Those Protestant Mega Churches have lots of people there...but what is the spiritual life and the relationship with God...Over the years I have found the smaller parishes (25-50) the most God fearing people...When I was searching for a new parish 2 years ago...I went to several parishes that had over 100 people (Orthodox & RC)...but to me the larger the church the less attached I was to the spiritual life due to a "non-connection" with the community as a whole...That could just be me...

I say sadly, because numbers have been declining every year. 40 years ago when this church was in Chicago, 500 people used to regularly turn up for 2 liturgies on Sunday. Large parishes aren't always bad, and small ones aren't necessarily good.

My Melkite parish in the DC area has 200-300 people on any given Sunday; my new, temporary parish in Arizona (Ruthenian) has had about 50-60 people on the 3 Sundays we have attended.
