Lekvar---it's basically prune butter. It's definitely an Eastern European thing. You either love it or hate it. One of my sisters loved lekvar pirohi--then she found out it was mashed prunes. She refuses to eat it now. And that was years ago. I like it. It's sweet. But then I like eating prunes.

The worst thing about lekvar, is when you refry your day old piroshki, (in sala grease of course!), the lekvar is 10 times hotter than the outside, and one always ends up with 3rd degree burns on the tongue!

How are you deciding when and where this meeting will be? I didn't read the whole thing. In any event, please keep us informed as to plans....

I couldn't agree more! I like both of them. Lekvar is highly underrated.
