Dear Dr. Eric,

Somewhere I saw that it was due out 2007/2008 season, which means this year!

I am crossing my fingers...how wonderful to have this movie for your children, amidst the countless junk films about Santa this and Santa that which come out every year!

Regards,
Alice

Yeah I know, that wouldn't make sense that they haven't, but then again, maybe it does! I mean, well, we wouldn't want people to value someone of this mythical status as a Christian religious figure of the Church who followed Christ's tenets--

Then again, it is an independently produced movie, so maybe they don't have a huge budget?

I noticed their spiritual advisor is Anglican Canon Rosenthal, the founder of the St. Nicholas Society. Wouldn't it be great if an Eastern Catholic/Orthodox had some input? Do you think it would affect the interpretation or give it a different focus if there were? Just looking for your thoughts...

Hi Anna,

I really don't know, but I think that it will be fairly accurate...atleast I hope so. I can't wait until we all see it, and then we can critique it with our impressions here! smile

According to the Internet Movie Data Base, as of 9/3/07, the principal photography of "Nicholas of Myra" is scheduled to be completed sometime in the spring of 2008, which would probably mean a release date during the Holiday season of next year.

Indeed. I am very excited about this film -- the historical "St. Nick" is a great heritage to pass on to our children, and is much better than leaving out cookies for "Santa" on Christmas eve.
