How do you get to see the results? 1. log on 2. take the poll 3. see the results after you answer each question.

1) is this really just a ploy to support your "Draft Al(batross) Gore" campaign? A ploy? No. It's a poll. That's all. 2) is the reason that the totals never add up to 100% that the poll is being tabulated in Chicago, and the ballots now swim with the fishes? From what I can see, the numbers are adding up to 100% per poll. -- John P.S. I've seen some that add up to 99% instead of 100%. I don't know why.

I think I'm a moderately liberal conservative. I'm not sure where that is.

John, I was just kidding! On the totals, I see that I was thinking there was an implied decimal point between the raw score and the percentages. My bad! Michael

I'm going to repost the presidential question, to include Ron Paul.

I suspect and hope that most people are not perfect fits to any one category. I have enough trouble trying to be consistent in areas where I have some claim to expertise - it's been many decades since I seriously studied American politics, so now my opinions are what they are; since I'm in no position to enforce them I feel no need to apologize for them!
That may make me a monarchist-anarchist. As to taxation, in the immortal words of Robert Heinlein: "if we must have government; let the governors themselves pay for their anti-social hobbies!"
As to matrimony, I've been saying out loud for the past several years that once the government takes it upon itself to redefine marriage (by "legalizing" divorce, for example) it's time to recognize that there are two fundamental sorts of marriage: the Christian marriage and the civil marriage. Among other things, this is why it is necessary to have Catholic marriage tribunals. The rules the government makes for civil marriages are not the business of the churches; the rules the churches make for Christian marriages are not the business of the government.
This is not really a novel idea: check out the conundrum over whether the Prince of Wales and Mrs. Fitzherbert were or were not married.
Fr. Serge

I'm conservative for where I live, and suspect I would be so in CA, MA and NH. In any other state, I'm guessing liberal.

I saw that someone in government in Mass. has proposed to outlaw any and all spanking. Someone tried that in California also not too long ago. Nonsense, in my opinion. But on health care, trying to preserve our jobs, trying to be good stewards of the world, civil liberties, etc., I am liberal. As for the war, anymore I cynically think that no one will stop it -- regardless of who gets elected-- because there is too much d##n money to be made by the oil companies, etc., in keeping it going. -- John
