I am wondering if any of the members of the Forum would have heard of the old movie from the late 1930's My Man Godfrey? It was a comedy with William Powell, Alice Brady and Carole Lombard.

Great movie - one my sons and I watched, and the very humor drawn out of the Depression gave perhaps a better sense of the tragedy of the "down and outs" than some more serious accounts might.

Wasn't there a more recent remake 1950's with David Niven ?
