Greetings to my Friends of the Forum on a Stormy/Snowy Day here in New England!
I attended the liturgy last evening so that I would not get caught in the storm today. Hopefully all travelling out to their churches today will be safe. Hopefully our priests will safe today as well travelling in the stormy weather.
Today is a good day to say some extra prayers at home and to relax and try to watch restful programs on television. Hopefully there will be some wholesome ones.
It is also a good day to visit the Byzantine Forum!
Slava Isusu Khrystu!

Greetings to all, from snowed-in, iced-in Northwest Ohio ! Last night, while at Vespers, we were praying for seasonable weather. Wow: that prayer was granted . . . -- John

We had totally nasty rain last night. Now we have gone from 70 degree weather to 40 degree. Down from 50s at night to the 30s. Well we don't have snow, but for us we have cold So I guess this is our bit of your snow storms. I pray all of you are safe!

We will be at 23 tonight. We've had heavy wind all day, but it's tapering off. No snow, however. Just rain.

Over a foot of snow here . . . It stopped snowing at 4 p.m. EST, which meant it snowed about 10 hours straight today . . . tonight the winds will drift it . . . so we are spending the day and evening indoors, which is nice.

We've had an icy, sleeting, wintery mix here overnight which made it somewhat dangerous to go out to the Liturgy this morning but it warmed up and it came off the sidewalks. The temp is dropping again and we're to have some more tonight until midnight, but so far the only place this mess has "stuck" is on the sidewalks. The grass is still showing and we didn't get the six inches of snow on top of this that my mother reports in the northern tier of PA.
Praying for all who "travel by land, by sea, by air, and by space" for their safe journeying.

We still have people without power a week after the ice storm. Ours was on relatively quickly - a couple of days after, thank God. It is nice to sing kolyadi in the snow, though...

Have to take back that part about not getting the six inches of snow--it started about an hour ago and came down fast. Fortunately it's the "confectioner's powdered sugar" variety and can be swept with a broom. BOB

Shucks! Bob, if you're getting snow now, we'll probably get it tonight or tomorrrow. This morning it was 38 degrees, and the rain was coming in horizontal from the north. That slacked off by 4:30PM but it looks like temps in the 20s tonight, and probably what's left of your snow! I liked John's prayer for "seasonable weather"! John, don't pray that prayer in the wintertime! Michael

MICHAEL:
Well, if you're to get what we have, you'll notice a dramatic dip in temperature. I was just outside and the wind is brutal tofgether with a temp that is below 32 degrees. It's stopped snowing and we're able to get some of it cleared out but we're to have more before midnight.

Slava Isusu Khrestu Hello Southeners! We, in the northwest of Ontario, Canada, are in the banana belt!!!!!!!!!!! Our weather has been misplaced! And it appears that you in the south have it:) We have snow but not the snow we used to have. Would you be so kinda as to bundle it up and sent it north . In anticipation Marry Christmas while you have a "White Christmas" early. Z Bohom Nycholaij" as in Svjatej Nycholaij Chudotvorets in two days on the 19th

When I saw the snow here in Joliet I was seriously tempted not to shovel the walk and drive and chip away at the ice which had formed overnight. I sighed and did it anyway. We made it to ECF, matins, and liturgy and was I ever glad. Shortly after we arrived our friends from Iowa having driven six hours+ walked in the Church. Misery is usually relative. It certainly was this time.

Words of prophesy? ... Misery is usually relative. It certainly was this time.
CDL I don't usually say this sort of thing until after our Christmas gatherings are done. The Christmas season is certainly a time for great blessings in humble circumstances. I hope you were greatly blessed by the presence of your friends. And that the Blessings continue throughout the Christmas season and the New Year.
