Ah! Many thanks. That clarifies things!

Now, is the analoy sometimes put on top of the tetrapod? I think I have seen this in some Orthodox churches...

That would be an interesting sight indeed, to put an analoy on top of a tetrapod. I guess it might be appropriate if the Harlem Globetrotters dropped by to venerate the icon! wink

Haha! Well, in an above post Father did describe the analoy as being like a 'Missal stand' and the tetrapod as being like a 'table'. To me, putting a Missal stand on top of a table seems perfectly logical.

Perhaps he meant a ligilium:

Now to me it seems that the analoy and ligilium are the same thing except that we only use the ligilium to put books upon at the Mass or Divine Office. They usually have a fabric covering them as well.
