Does that not require actual grace?

What I meant was that it is not through our will, but by our faith and God's will that such a reunion would take place.

I beg to differ. The call to unity is in the Scriptures that youns all be one. Mortals made the mess; mortals need to clean it up (without broom sticks this time).

Islam is coming! Mortal Christians will still be fighting each other over cleaning rights while the Muslims are on top of the churches replacing the cross with the crescent. Then the doors to the newly dedicated mosque will be shut so the Gentiles can continue their broom stick fights over a pale of cleaning fluid.

I watched the clip and have read this entire thread. And I have to ask the question that so many people ask in this type of situation. Where is God in all this?

Well, IMHO, He is where He is when someone dies. He's standing back in the corner of the room crying quietly and shaking His Head. This surely is not part of His Plan for us, but we human beings seem to have a wonderful gift for fouling up His Plan all along the way.

Here's a prayer that centuries-old hatreds will diminish in the new year and that hearts will be opened so that finally the Holy Spirit may cast some light into them.

In Christ,

BOB

Shlomo Lkhoolkhoon,

Actually it is worse than most of you think. The Coptic Orthodox, the Ethiopian Orthodox and the Syriac Orthodox also have responsiblities within the Church and they fight each other, and they all belong to the same communion. This fight is one of pride, not one of religous beliefs.

Why can't we dwell together in unity?

O Lord have mercy on us and save us.
