http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=4131297 The US continues to arm Christian hating terrorist producing Wahhabist Saudi Arabia, while warning us of the dire threat posed by Syria, where both Christians and Jews are free to worship in peace, conduct religious processions in public, have there own courts for certain matters, and where Christian government employees are given Sundays off. Personally I'd have an easier time believing in the Easter Bunny, then I would the Bush administration's War on Terror.

The threatening tone toward Iran doesn't sound too diplomatic either..

"Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad!" I obviously don't believe in the gods, but the principle seems generally valid.

I do think something has to be done because they do want to harm us. I also think that selling arms to a group that lashes women who are raped isn't the way to do it!
By the way Iran's idea of diplomacy is to kidnap citizens from another country.

Just politics as usual. We're on good terms with Saudi Arabia, and relish the oil deals... Not the case with syria Im afraid.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think I've seen this pattern one too many times now for it to just be coincedence - I've come to the conclusion that this whole Mideast tour and the CitiGroup investment is linked. President Bush promises the Saudis millions in arms, suddenly they turn around and bail out CitiGroup - coincidence? Soon after the bail out, President Bush makes a speech in a threatening tone regarding Saudi Arabia's historic enemy, Iran.. I wonder how many other nations are going to get arms for "national security" and suddenly invest in bank bailouts...
Speaking of bank bailouts - I'm sure everyone's read that CountryWide is being bought by Bank of America for 10 cents on the dollar - BofA is going to write off the CW losses on their taxes.. which ultimately means that each citizen will be paying off their foolish financial mistakes. We pay while those who were in charge of the debacle get hundreds of millions in severance... How's that for capitalism and home of the free?

Good find Michael. That banking stuff could be right under my nose and I wouldn't notice it.
On the subject of the Bush administration providing military aid to countries that persecute Christians, it's old news and it certainly didn't create any splash in the media, but does anyone know what Christian persecuting country the US resumed providing military aid to in the 21st century ? And yes, George W Bush was totally in favor of it.

Bush hasn't been the only one who is in bed with the Saudis. They gave huge amounts of money to the Clinton Library. He was just as bad as Bush.

It's too bad that our country has never really been serious about developing oil alternatives. Oh, it gets lip service when gas prices go up, then falls by the wayside when prices drop a bit. I think that Muslims without money tend to have their mischief-making abilities diminished.
