Does anyone know how to upload music to the web? I'd like to produce a few tunes in Garage Band and put them on my website:

www.catholicchurchgeek.com [catholicchurchgeek.com]

Any (low to no cost) ideas?

God bless!

Brother,

Your question is a general one, no details.

If you simply want to upload, then use a free software as filezilla. Login with your user name and psw. Create online a folder in root, something like http://www.catholicchurchgeek.com/Garage_Band or another name, drag and drop the mp3 file(s) in this folder. And wait smile

I have no idea what you want to do specifically, but it quite easy and free. You use just the features given by your hosting provider.

Of course, then you should create/edit page(s) linking the music files. Dreamweaver or Notepad, it does not matter. It is easy.

I will visit your site to see what you did.

God bless you!

Would you want these files to be listened to after someone downloads them, or would you want them to be streamed?

I have several music files on my dad's pro-life site, www.abortionessay.com/files/songs.html [abortionessay.com]

How have you been uploading data to your site? If you can access your site through its ftp address, it would be like this (I'm going from memory and am behind a firewall and can't verify): ftp://username:password@catholicchurchgeek.com

Some web hosts do not allow ftp access, but have an HTML type portal.

If you are using Vista, you will be able to view the FTP site without editing or inserting files into it. To create folders and place objects in them, you will have to select the "page" button and select the 'view to edit' or such. (I am not at my home computer and am fortunate enough not to have Vista at work, so again I may be off a little.)

Gordo,

are you wanting to load up the score (sheet music) as a PDF, or are you wanting to load up audio or video files of the music?

Visit our Melkite liturgical music site here: http://www.melkites.org/en/music . You'll see how I've loaded up the sheet music, audio, and video files.

If that's what you want, let me know and I'll give you the details.

Thank you all for taking the time to offer suggestions! I need to explore each one to see which one will work best.

God bless!
