It was announced earlier this morning that His Beatitude had fallen asleep in the Lord.

With the souls of the righteous made perfect in the faith, give rest to the soul of your servant , O Saviour. Preserve him in that blessed life with you , one and only true lover of all people.

Memory eternal to the Lord's servant, Archbishop Christodoulos

Christ our eternal King and God, You have destroyed death and the devil by Your Cross and have restored man to life by Your Resurrection; give rest, Lord, to the soul of Your servant Archbishop Christodoulos who has fallen asleep, in Your Kingdom, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering. In Your goodness and love for all men, pardon all the sins he has committed in thought word or deed, for there is no man or woman who lives and sins not, You only are without sin.

For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and Repose of Your servant Archbishop Christodoulos, departed this life, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up glory with Your Eternal Father and Your All-holy, Good and Life-creating Spirit; both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Eternal Memory! May the Lord show His mercy to His servant, Christodoulos, welcome him into the gates of heaven!

His death is a great loss to the Greek Orthodox Church. May the Lord also console those who knew and loved this wonderful Shepherd.

We have been praying his name at Paraclisis every week...

Atleast he is now out of his suffering. A week ago he was having much trouble breathing due to liquid build up in his abdominal cavity but refused to go back to the hospital.

May our Lord have mercy on his soul...AIONIA I MNIMI!

Eternal Memory, good, beloved and faithful servant!!!!

In Christ,
Alice

May Archbishop Christodoulos hear the words from the lips of Our Savior that every believer longs to hear at the end of his pilgrimage, "Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master."

Grant him, O Lord, a favored place among Your priestly servants in the Kingdom.

Memory Eternal.

"The souls of the just are in the hands of the Lord."

May Archbishop Christodoulos repose in peace and may his many good works to the service of God's people go before him through the toll-houses on the path to the Lord.

Eternal memory!
