If I'd be an American citizen, I would vote for Mr. Huckabee or for Mr. McCain. In essence any Republican able to beat Obama or Clinton.

In essence, I'd vote pro-life with the hope that the new president will name judges pro-life at the Supreme Court.

After thinking more about it, I support Barack Obama.

I had been leaning towards McCain because he was a veteran, but that seems to be his only really strong point. Otherwise, he and the Republicans and Clinton seem like the past.

Obama seems like the future; and I think America needs an overhaul of its government; and I think he would be the one to do it.

And as for being pro-life . . . that is so much more than merely being anti-abortion.

Obama is Pro-Abortion

Obama supports abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy. As an Illinois senator he failed to support the ban on live-birth abortions [SB�s 1661, 1662, 1663], and he also failed to support bans on partial-birth abortions [HB 382]. He also voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act which says that is a baby survives an abortion, as some actually do, then life-saving medical care must be provided for the infant.

Obama Supports Gay Marriage

Obama said �I will oppose any proposal to amend the Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying.� (Windy City Times, 4/02/04)

Obama is against Traditional Values � Obama is Pro-Gay

Obama CO-SPONSORED a bill to make Sexual Orientation, homosexuality, trans-genderism, bisexuality and trans-vestiteism, etc., a protected class, like race. [SB 0101] (Obama made early reservations to be seen in the 2004 Chicago Gay-Pride parade.)



Obama voted against protecting kids from Internet Porn

The Internet filter amendment was attached to bill, HB 1812. This vote was for an amendment requiring schools to block children�s access to illegal porn as defined by state law: child porn, obscenity and harmful materials. It passed in the Senate (with Obama voting �NO�) and went onto the House where it failed

Obama is for Human Cloning

Obama voted against a bill to prohibit human cloning. [SB 649]



Obama is Anti-Choice on Education

Obama opposes school choice, home-schooling, and even opposed the tuition tax credit for public and private school families. [SB 1075] �Many Christian or Faith-based schools would be excluded�

Thanks for your comment. Perhaps I might say that many people would like us to pretend to be blind and deaf rather than offer any view which they consider "political". It is not partisan politics to point out the the use of vulgar epithets about people is discourteous and can be downright sinful. Nor is it partisan politics to note that war-mongering is certainly sinful, in that it leads directly to inflicting death, injury, and other forms of harm to others. And so on.

The Bible is full of "politics", as can easily be demonstrated. Endorsing a specific political party, let alone a specific candidate, is not normally for us to do. Giving clear moral teaching, even about "political" matters is certainly our duty.

If my wish to keep my voting preferences this year to myself has caused any confusion, I fully apologize.

1.4 million babies died last year. That is more than all the people in the Iraq war on both sides. Neither one is good but one is whole lot worse. If we don't protect our babies than what good are we? 40 to 50 million babies have died in the US alone since Roe vs Wade. What good is a school lunch program if you are for the killing of the unborn.

I don't want to turn this thread into a debate over abortion. I support the Church's teaching. However, we have other things besides abortion to care of in this country. And I am supporting the candidate who, in my opinion, will take of those other things best.

Now, I know some folks think that is unacceptable, that abortion should be the greatest issue of them all.

I disagree. I actually believe that there are more imprtant issues than abortion. Life doesn't stop at conception or at birth; life goes on and on; and there are lots of other issues of life than this one.

Finally, I don't think the solution to abortion is making it illegal. If the Supreme Court outlawed it tomorrow, it wouldn't be effective. Law is not an objective thing; it only reflects what we are willing to do in our hearts. Half the country thinks it's ok to kill a little kid. The solution is to convince them otherwise: by compassion, by moral lifestyles, and by offering nonjudgemental help (to keep the baby or to give the baby up for adoption) when people are in need. That won't eliminate abortion, but it could reduce the numbers, make it unncesssary for many, and persuade many hearts that life is, in deed, a wonderful choice.

Sincerely, I would vote for any Republican pro-life candidate who would name at the Supreme Court pro-life judges.

Otherwise, is not capitalist the economy of the U.S.A.?! And any Christian president must have an open eye for helping with smart economical politics the poor people, the family, the school, the hospitals etc. And a smarter external politics.

We have a mixed economy. There are controls on every sector of the economy; a few sectors are regulated rather heavily by the government. Overall, however, private investment is encouraged and price is allowed to reach a market balance.
