I like him better then McCain and Huck.
I have an unrelated topic. I was just banned from discusing politics on a very fundamentalist forum for being a Ron Paul supporter. The hatred Ron Paul stirs from some Evangelicals is fascinating to me, enough to get me banned from the board.
Anyways, I don't love Mitt, but I really dislike McCain and Huckabee as presidential candidates.

I just saw the anouncement as well. I voted for Ron Paul in the CT primaries (knowing full well that he didn't stand a chance), but Mitt was a close second for me after I saw him in the GOP debate at the Reagan Museum. I know that people on this forum like McCain, but I'm not a huge fan. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Between McCain, Huckabee, and Romney, I would choose Romney.
Between McCain and Huckabee, I may not choose even if I work the polls.

In a secular democracy Christians have few choices. In fact we seem to always face several dilemmas, not least of which is it better to choose the lesser of two evils or avoid our civic duties altogether. In any event and for whatever it's worth I thought Romney was the best of the lot that was left. Maybe Ann Coulter is right. Vote for Hilary so most of us get so sick of the Dems that the Republicans will all look good.

Unfortunately Mitt Romney's supporters will probably not vote for Ron Paul in any substantial numbers. Romney, McCain and Huckabee all support increased military aggression, and since Ron Paul is the only peace candidate in either party (Hillary Clinton was pro-War last Fall, and Barack Obama's website subtly indicates he's leaving the door open to a permanent presence in Iraq) he's not likely to pick up much here.
At least Ron Paul has mentioned that the US is borrowing money from China to fight the War in Iraq.

CDL,
That's not what Ann Coulter said. She said McCain and Clinton are so similar that there's really no difference except for the fact that Clinton has a stronger stance on the war.
Nothing about voting for Democrats so Republicans will look good. Voting for sound Democrats would make most Republicans look even worse, IMHO, if that's possible.

The fact that many of the dye-in-the-wool Democrats I have known have offered "I am a Democrat who loves McCain." Always leads me to wonder why? Is it because he essentially shares their worldview with a different partisan affiliation, or because his presentation of "conservatism" is so utterly and truly convincing, he sells it well? I suspect it is not the latter. -Simple co-contributor, Per Christum Blog [ blog.ancient-future.net]

Pat Buchanan recently stated in an interview, that McCain will make Dick Cheney look like Gandhi.

The queastionthen becomes ot me, will ROmneys supporters switch to McCain, or iwll they go with Huckabee?
I know it sounds at firts like a clear to answwr queastion, but many who supported ROmney did so in order to avoid McCain as President. Thus they may gravitate to Huchabee. Some who also sup[port sme of the thigns ROmney supported that McCain doens't but Huckabee does, may also gravitate to him. ( Forgive me for not beign spacific, I cant recall the ovrlap points.)
So, with Romney gone, who will hsi supporters choose? And How VIsble is Huckabee?
Either way, any of the Republican Candidates are better than the two Democrats int h running inmy estimation.

Among the options of unimpressive choices I thought Romney the best of the lot too. Too choose between what is left is really disheartening.
