Please keep me in your prayers as I will be seeing Father this coming Tuesday regarding a change in rite from the West to the East. This has been a long time in coming and a peace and calmness has settled over that I have not known in a very long time.

BTW It is hard to ask for prayer in a public forum. Pray that I will not let my pride get in the way and that I will learn some humility.

Prayers for you as you discern this. I'm sure your priest will be helpful and guide you through the necessary paperwork

Slava Isusu Christu! (Glory be to God!)
Slavite Jeho! (Glory Forever)

May your mind, emotions and conscience guide you to that peaceful place that is within. Because if you're there---then you made the right decision! Just keep focusing on that feeling as much as you can. Pride can be a rough thing. But there's a reason for it to be rough and some very nice lessons to be learned at the end of the rainbow bridge.

Welcome, brother!

Tim

Whay are you changing this greeting?????
This is what drives us Cradle Orthodox crazy- when changes are made to our time honored traditions.

Yeah, here is the proper greeting & please stop changing things.:

"Slava Isusu Christu" = "Glory to Jesus Christ"

Response: "Slava na Viky" = "Glory Forever"

Einar, you are in our prayers, and your post is very humble.

Blessings,

My goodness guys... chill! Can we not accept the possibility that our brother Tim is not trying to "change" anything? Can we not accept the possibility that this may be nothing more than a simple case of something as innocuous as an innocent typo? Must we jump to conclusions and automatically assume the worst?

Sheesh!! Talk about over-reacting!!

I agree with Al. I do not think that Tim has a 'hidden agenda'.

This is Lent for many posters and the preparation week approaching Lent for others... I will kindly ask all posters to please speak more politely and less emotionally to others, and to stick to prayer on this forum. If one has an issue with another's posts, this is NOT the forum to have it, and a private message might be the better way to go for clarification.

Thank you. Alice, Moderator

Halia12 and Orest:

Christ is in our midst!! He is and always will be!!

Did you ever consider that Tim might have adopted the greeting but doesn't know the English version?

Or maybe he was having what I was having this morning at the post office--a "brain freeze" when I was writing a check? I heard one amount, wrote another, and had the post master calling my house when I got home.

May the Lord pour out on us a spirit of tolerance for one another. May He give us the spirit of patience for those of us in the midst of the Fast and for those approaching it.

In Chrsti,

BOB

Please be kind to Tim. I can assure you 100% this was a simple mistake.

Also, prayers for the op.
