Between 2 until 4 April, at Bucharest it is the NATO summit.

It is possible that Croatia, Macedonia and Albania enter NATO.

And they talk about other two countries: Ukraine and Georgia.

What do you think about a possible entrance of Ukraine in NATO? About all the above countries?

Croatia and Albania yes, I am sure they will. FYROM is probably more complicated due to relations with Greece, but likely them as well.

Ukraine and Georgia, I don't think it will happen.

We Ukrainians of course want to be part of NATO but I also don't think it will happen soon because of opposition from Russia.

Russia of course still cannot accept that Ukrainians voted for independence in 1991.

Many people in Macedonia, including soldiers and police, felt that NATO openly sided with Albanian Moslems http://www.ecmi.de/jemie/download/Focus1-2002Brunnbauer.pdf during the 2001 conflict, and of course we know what NATO did in Kosovo and Serbia. Macedonia should reject membership in NATO as should all European countries. The group should have been disbanded over 10 years ago.

I think it would be ironic for Ukraine and Georgia to enter into alliance with NATO.

There may be retaliations and trade disputes similar to the dispute which led Russia to cut off natural gas from Ukraine if that were to happen.

Exactly, in 1933 Moscow starved 10 million by stealing the breadbasket's own food. Today they pass gas with little notice. Who needs NATO more then the European scapegoat and Asia-miner sacrificial lamb before a new genocide is covered up? The third Rome wants to be their patriarchal father while its omophoria embraces royal martyrs with heavenly crowns and hymned of requiem yet the peasants are ignored as fertilizer.

Indeed, so sad history...Once I saw a whole documentary about that starvation. Many people suffered much.

According to that article the majority of Ukrainians do not support entering NATO.

I understand that there is difficult history between Ukraine and Russia, but lets not bring the holy royal martyrs into it..they are passion-bearing saints and it isn't reverend.

Why? They were political figures. Genocide follows their reign. Their demise was tragic but why should they be Teflon clad? Saint Josaphat is not. Is he?

Dear Alexandr,

Well, if you don't like Saint Josaphat, you are welcome to join me in devotion to Blessed Charles of Austria.

Look's like it was somewhat of a defeat for aggressive militaristic expansion http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7328276.stm

I am sorry, I am simply an ignorant Greek Orthodox, not a Slav--I only know of the Holy Royal Martyrs through my own research and devotion. I do not know who St. Josephat is.

Hopefully it will be recognized that the need to expand NATO to these areas does not exist, and that it needlessly antagonizes the Russians whose support we need. Our support of FYROM also needlessly antagonizes the Greeks who have stood by us.

This I hope is a wake up call that we need to change course. I wish this would have happened before we needlessly interfered in the affairs of Serbia and split that nation apart.
