To My Good Friends on the Byzantine Forum:

Christ is Risen, Glorify Him!

I am wondering if it possible to pray a Moleben in private in the evening? I know that in public they are usually prayed in the morning. Whatever assistance that you can provide in this matter is very much appreciated.

May Jesus the Lover of Mankind Bless You!

Dear John,

As far as I know, one can pray a supplication service or Akathist in private devotion at any time during the day.

God bless you,

I've never heard of "rules" about them (and if there happen to
be such, I will happily disregard them).I pray moelbens,
akathists and the panikhida service whenever I feel moved to do
so.

For those wondering what a Moleben is, here is a link to the Moleben to Jesus I posted a few years ago. For some reason they are hard to find online.

Here are some links from ROCOR sources:

There is an Order for a Moleben as a Reader's Service at Fr John Whiteford's site:

http://www.saintjonah.org/services/moleben.htm

and the Order of the General Moleben is here:

and a collection of Molebens for different occasions here:

Pani Rose,

Thanks for posting the link to your earlier thread. I was actually wondering what a Moleben was. Now that I know what akathists and Molebens are, I just have to find out what panikhida means...:)

By the way, the Moleben to Jesus, the Lover of Mankind is exquisite.

God bless and keep you....
