Sorry folks, but this is just too darn scary... See how the Muslims use the Western legal system to silence their critics? And Germany is more worried about Scientology? (which IS worrisome, BTW, but not nearly the same level of threat) God bless her. PARIS (Reuters) - French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of "inciting racial hatred" over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.
Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros ($23,760) for saying the Muslim community was "destroying our country and imposing its acts".
Since retiring from the film industry in the 1970s, Bardot has become a prominent animal rights activist but she has also courted controversy by denouncing Muslim traditions and immigration from predominantly Muslim countries.
She has been fined four times for inciting racial hatred since 1997, at first 1,500 euros and most recently 5,000.
Prosecutor Anne de Fontette told the court she was seeking a tougher sentence than usual, adding: "I am a little tired of prosecuting Mrs Bardot."
Bardot did not attend the trial because she said she was physically unable to. The verdict is expected in several weeks.
French anti-racist groups complained last year about comments Bardot made about the Muslim feast of Eid al-Adha in a letter to President Nicolas Sarkozy that was later published by her foundation.
Muslims traditionally mark Eid al-Adha by slaughtering a sheep or another animal to commemorate the prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son on God's orders.
France is home to 5 million Muslims, Europe's largest Muslim community, making up 8 percent of France's population.
"I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country and imposing its acts," the star of 'And God created woman' and 'Contempt' said.
Bardot has previously said France is being invaded by sheep-slaughtering Muslims and published a book attacking gays, immigrants and the unemployed, in which she also lamented the "Islamisation of France".

This really is ridiculous that they can do this to her. Makes me realy mad!!!  And yet, people in this country can mock the Catholic Church and Christians. We do not respond with hate toward our enemies but prayer and love. We allow Muslims to build mosques here, but they do not allow Christians to build Churches in Muslim land. Europe has lost its soul, its heritage. The Muslims failed to conquer Europe with armies. But they could very well Islamize the European continent.

Brigette Bardot also has a rap sheet in Los Angeles for drunk driving and insulting Los Angeles police officers. Does anyone remember that event?

Indigo is right. while Mlle Bardot was wrong in getting herself smashed and taking a swing at a cop in LA, I am sure she was stone cold sober when she told everyone where it is at when it comes to Islam. none of us are without sin, so please don't be so quick to hit the lady with the drunk thing. even a stopped clock is right once ever twelve hours, and so it goes.give credit where credit is due, and so it goes for Mlle Bardot.

The point here is that they are bringing civil charges against her for criticizing Islam. That is chilling to me. It does not matter what kind of train wreck her personal life might be.

When the USA becomes part of the American Union, then we will have the same charges brought against us if we speak out publicly against Islam.
With the NAFTA trade agreements a done deal, we probably already have an American Union whether we realize it or not.
Are they monitoring the Internet from France and Europe yet? If so, then we know what is next for us too.

If this Muslim charter school in Minnesota were located in France, would the citizens there have the legal right to protest a government-financed religious school for Muslims? If we cannot protest this abuse of tax dollars, then we are lost. However, the gay minority won the right to have their own public gay school in New York which is funded by our tax dollars. What is the difference here? If the gays can have their own private schools at our expense, then why not the Muslims, and the Nazis, and the atheists? We have to put this in perspective.
