Seems like the answer to racism is simple, follow Christ's words and teachings and treat people with respect which means following Christ's words and teachings!

As for slavery on the Canary Islands, that was before Spain was a united nation (1492), and it was the Catalonian people, or rather the Aragonian empire under King Jaume I, that brought slaves from Sardinia definitely and possibly Sicily to the Canary Islands and used them as slaves. (Catalonians were vicious masters and colonizers)Catalonia is not Spain's economic powerhouse for nothing and much of their wealth was built on slavery.

Oh, and Catalonians were not allowed by the monarchs to participate in the Atlantic slave or economic trade for a very long time as punishment for rebelling against Castilian rule. Much of their participation was in Cuban slavery in the 1800s, and Cuba did not emancipate their slaves until, I believe, 1884 and possibly as late as 1894.

Respectfully, I hope to act more like my Lord Jesus, an observant Jew, as was his mother whom I also love. Shalom!

Actually, I meant the controversy in Acts 15.
