Some of you may recall my request for prayers for Little Eva earlier this year. She is two years old and had a massive, mini-football sized tumor removed. Here is the latest update. it comes from my mother, Eva. Please kindly remember Little Eva, her parents and her doctors in your prayers. Eva went to her doctor in Dallas and this is a summary of where we are right now:
Her visit to the specialist at MD Anderson brought more clarity to what was happening with Eva and clearly favored Chemotherapy. The specialist there consulted with Eva's doctor in Dallas after his through evaluation of her case. What we now know is that chemo although appearing to be the best choice also offers some risky side effects: possible heart problems and changing the tumor to a ganglio-neuroblastoma. With a neuroblastoma there is a chance that it could go away on it's on but with the ganglio that would never happen. In Eva's case the growth pattern of the tumor is attachment to the spine and it is on the heart side of her chest. These two factors compound the risks and make chemo appear to be a better option. Surgery is still being considered and a very excellent specialist who is a cardio-thoracic pediatric surgeon is also being called in to consult.
To add to the decision making talents the guru of neuroblastoma at Sloan Kettering (probably the most renowned neroblastoma specialist in the country) is being called into review Eva's entire case.
What a blessing. We now have the best helping to make a decision for Eva. Our prayer is that the ultimate physician will give them the guidance they need.
Eva will have another CT Scan in three weeks and the best of the best will be in consultation for what is the best for her.
Please keep Eva and Kristi and Jon in your prayers. Krisit has not slept in weeks and we need for her spirit to have a peace so that her body can rest. Please pray for her to have that peace.
Thank you again for all your prayerful support Eva Thank you and God bless, Fr. Deacon Daniel [ Linked Image]

Prayers for little Eva's full recovery and that God grant her many years

My fervent prayers for the eventual recovery of Little Eva and for the perseverance of her parents and entire family, especially her Mom, who must be the most devastated!

so beautiful she is! Lord of the Powers be with us, for in times of distress we have no other help but You. Lord of the Powers, have mercy on little Eva, the family, and doctors, along with all her care givers.

The offspring of Selyvria and the guardian of Aegina, the true friend of virtue who appeared in the last days, we faithful honour thee as a Godly servant of Christ, for thou pourest forth healings of all kinds for those who piously cry out:
Glory to God who glorified thee Glory to Him who made thee wondrous Glory to Him who worketh healings for all through thee. AMEN.
Through the intercessions of St. Nektarios, miracoulous healer for cancer and illness, I pray to God for little Eva...
In Christ, Alice

Dear Friends, I just received this note from my mother. Please continue to keep Little Eva and her parents and doctors in your prayers. Thank you so much. Fr. Deacon Daniel Wednesday Little Eva went for an MRI and Cat Scan. Over the last few months she has been evaluated by the best doctors in our country at MD Anderson and Sloan Kettering and her own doctors at Children's in Dallas. The test this week confirmed that Eva's tumor on the right side is growing and that the small portion left on her left side has begun to grow as well. Chemo is her best option. She will go into the hospital on Monday September 22 and have a port inserted and receive her first dose.
Kristi has asked that I communicate this message to everyone. She had a good friend with her, Whit, as Jon is in Asia.
