Glory to Jesus Christ!

Just wondering if any of the good members of the Forum might be fans of the actress Georgia Engel?

Take care and enjoy the day!

Was she the very meek and whispery petite actress from the Mary Tyler Moore show?!? If so, I am not particularly a fan of hers...sorry! smile

I cannot say that I am a particular fan of Ms. Engel, but I will disagree with Alice. I thought she did a credible job as a supporting actress on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. I have seen her in other sitcoms but, as far as I know, she has not been cast in any leading roles.

Our priest has been telling his flock to avoid TV.

He said that if more of us would read the Holy Bible and not even own a TV that we would advance in theosis.

So many people, he said, can name stars and the shows in which they appeared, but do not know the names of the major and minor prophets and their edifying statements. Nor can they name the epistles of St. Paul.

I remember Ms Engel as Robert Barone's mother-in-law on Everybody Loves Raymond. Can't say I enjoyed her character- fundamentalist protestant, who had a penchant for smoking on the sly.

E-M:

your comment above reminds of the story of the seminarian who was called upon by his Scripture professor to name the minor and major prophets. Unprepared, but quite the wit, the young man responded, "Father Doctor, far be it from me to assume any of the Lord's prophets would be considered minor prophets."

That is funny. What did the good priest have to say in return? What could he say? I bet the class was in stitches.
