Drove by an old Greek Catholic (?) Church today. Looked ancient. Believe it was on East Ohio St. on the north side of Pittsburgh. Corner stone might have had 1901 on it. Could not look at it while driving. :-) Near downtown and ramp to 279. Any ideas what parish?

I thought I might have seen crkva on it. Most Latin Croatian parishes that I have seen use Župa.

"Pittsburgh" seems an odd name for a church!

More seriously, "crkva" is not a likely word on a Greek-Catholic Church.

Haven't been to Pittsburgh since 1988, and have no expectation of going there again, so I can't go look at the building. It is probable, though, that in 1901 or 1902 the Latin Diocese of Pittsburgh would have been aware of this building and listed it somewhere. If the Latin Diocese of Pittsburgh these days have an archivist, he might well be able to shed some light on the history of the building.

Unfortunately there is no picture of the cornerstone, which might very well offer some useful information.
