Just finished a pm with one of our members and thought I'd take a poll. (No, it's not about being smarter than a fifth grader.)

It's a bit damp here in central PA so my wife and I are sitting here enjoying a hot cup of herb tea and an apple muffin (her homemade), hunkering down against the dampness.

What are the rest of you, my brethren, doing tonight?

Just got back from vespers for the protection of the Theotokos!!! Now helping my 7 year old with homework so she can get to bed. Tea and muffins sound good! I better get off the computer if at least muffins are going to fit in tonight.

Lapsang Souchong and a chapter of "The Way of a Pilgrim" before bed. I have to limit my reading of that book. Otherwise, I won't put it down and do anything else.

Said the Rosary, did some reading about Elepants (my favorite creatures) and am now practicing guitar while playing at the computer. Will probably get in a little reading of the 1957 Liturgy of the Roman Church.

I began a minor carpentry project restoring the aromatic ceder chest my grandfather built in shop class in high school. My wife made a delicious chocolate mousse while our son looked at the clock and smiled.

On Monday evening I'm normally in a state of collapse after the weekend. Yesterday I was more collapsed than usual because of a funeral on Monday morning.

Praying that you will be refreshed physically! Have a good rest and a good hot cup of tea, and don't forget to take some (harmless) supplemental vitamin C. I have found that doing this when I have forgotten to for a few days, and suddenly feel physically exhausted, stressed, fatigued and drained, always *miraculously* helps me. I have passed this on to the other members of my family, and it helps them as well...Our bodies deplete it very fast when we are tired and stressed, and even the best food sources do not offer enough to help in this case.

Regards,
Alice smile

Dear Alice,

Thanks (as always) for the prayers, and for the good advice - which I'm taking. My favorite method of taking vitamin c is to drink orange juice in unfashionably large quantities. A few years ago my doctor asked me what brand of orange juice I drank - when I responded that I drink the kind that comes home from the supermarket while still in the orange, the doctor was a bit startled!

Fresh squeezed--always the best, especially with all the pulp. I always felt that a big glass like that was God's way of saying that life is good again this morning.

I think a large glass of fresh squeezed lemon juice would be better before bed than in the morning. All that puckering up to kiss my wife good night. wink She'd probably ask, "What's with you?" laugh Followed by, "You're sour enough." laugh

But just think what all that acid would do to your tooth enamel over night !!

Lemon juice first thing in the morning will shift that early morning winter catarrh .
