I hope that you feel better soon, dear Father Deacon Daniel, but I have no sympathy for 'the man cold' of which I know of all too well! Blessings, Alice

I showed this to my wife a few years back and she didn't talk to me for a day. I think it struck too close to home.

Is this for real? I can't imagine a man whining like that and allowing it to be posted on the internet. He's lucky his wife didn't take that bell and stick it in his mouth handle side down. Can anyone say "tough it out, man"? BOB

Bob,
It is simply an amusing and perfectly absurd illustration of how "babyish" we men can be when we get a slight cold...
Where as with women...
You get the picture.
God bless!

Father Deacon Daniel: I know it's a spoof. And if you ask any woman, including my own dear wife, it's not a spoof but a real-life depiction. Let's hope that not too many brides-to-be see it. It could cut down on marriages. I still think, though, that I'd rather not be the actor in this type of film. The ribbing form one's colleagues could be brutal. BOB

I haven't been sick for a while, so now that she's taking care of little Thomas I think it would be the perfect time to have a Man Cold. I could even throw around my socks and make her pick them up because I'd be "too ill to bend over."

TERRY: This brings to mind a little story. A man went to a self-assertedness class and came home to tell his wife what the new arrangement would be for their marriage. "You will prepare me a gourmet meal and feed it to me. You will then draw me a bath and bathe me. You will then towel me dry and dress me. And do you know who will do the same thing for me tomorrow?" The wife replied, "The undertaker." BOB

Ha! I couldn't get away with that either. Though it does help that I cook. The only thing I ask sometimes is for her to do the prep work before I get home, or we'd have dinner late around 8-9pm.

TERRY:
We've had a rule in the house since we were first married and it seems to work. The cook does not clean up. So no matter how many pots, pans, dishes, and utnesils are used, the cook goes off to relax after dinner. We both cook and we both clean up. Loretta does the laundry and it's my job to make the beds. And so it goes.

Bob,
If I am making Chinese stir-fry, it's hard to clean up when the food's ready to eat in minutes. The only clean up could be after the prepping.
But if I'm making anything which takes more time (like a delicious Polish sausage with real sauerkraut) I will clean while cooking, putting away any oils or spices I used into their places and washing any pots or pans which where used to brown the sausage or to make any sides.
