One of my greatest comforts in life is music. I'm curious about who your favorite composers are. Here are my top 10 (in terms of my favorites-I would have a different list if asked to name the top 10 I believed to be the greatest).

I'm a works, not composer guy. wink

For non-liturgical music, in "as I recall" order:

Mahler: Symphony 9
Mahler: Das Lied von der Erde
Mahler: Symphony 6
Beethoven: Symphony 3
Beethoven: Symphony 7
Beethoven: Late Piano Sonatas (110 is especially good) and Late String Quartets
Berg: Violin Concerto
Wagner: Tristan & Isolde
Bach: St. Matthew's Passion
Mozart: Requiem Mass (this IMO is not appropriate for Liturgy, not withstanding its name and its prior use at funerals)
Mozart: Marriage of Figaro
Mozart: Magic Flute
Debussy: La Mer

Liturgical music is a whole different kettle of fish.....
Palestrina, Byrd are among my favorite "named" Latin composers
