In Greek, in Turkish, and in several Slav languages, "pope" simply means a priest.

Frankly, the wrangling over terminology is both tiring and inappropriate.

His Beatitude Stephanos has reposed in the Lord, might we devote some posts to prayer for his eternal memory?

Memory eternal to the Lord's servant, the Patriarch Stephanos.

The prayer section is No. 7

A recurrent feature of the forum is that questions are asked anew by people as they come on to the forum for the first time. That is a feature of such forums as this, that questions about the meaning of things keep on being asked over and over. So questions about the title of the late Patriarch had and details about the See he held will keep on coming up. We have people who post here who hold quite a lot of knowledge and are willing to share it.

Sorry mate but it you are tired then go to bed and come back to the forum refreshed.

cool
