Are there reservation space still available?

As of this past Tuesday, I know there was still space available. Most of the reservations had come from forms downloaded via the Archeparchy link previously provided. Registration forms were also supposed to be available at local churches. Attendance over the past couple years has numbered approx. one hundred. With the importance of this topic, hopefully there will be even more this year.

I just committed to it. The deadline was "officially" yesterday. If you want to go, I'm sure you can just ask. Maybe I'm wrong, though -- don't mention my name

Anyway, Zeeker's right, the topic is hot hot hot. I think it will be a most informative day.

Any question and answer segments or will all questions be suppressed?

In each of the past Spirituality Conferences that I have attended, there has always been at least one Q&A period at the end of the day before vespers. On a couple of occasions, the speakers have been taken questions at the conclusion of their presentation. Also, there has normally been paper available on the tables for written comments and questions.

The priest giving the talk on the New Translation, Fr. Elias Rafaj, is a good fellow. I've asked him tons of questions about it already--he's my pastor--and gotten good, truthful answers.

Knowing him, his knowledge, and his speaking ability, I am very much looking forward to his keynote address.

He's also gotten me looking forward to the implimentation of the New Translation (as well as some of the guys who are going to the Cantor Institite).

I just got back and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The New Translation changes were explained.

Please tell Fr. Elias Rafaj hello from Deacon Stan and myself. Tell him please that Will and Steph are having their first baby and she is going to be Baptised too at the same time as baby William will be. He told us not to be concerned about her Baptism, that when they had a child she would get Baptised also.

Yes, I disagree with the reasoning used by the Metropolia on why the translation is to be of a more Greek usage than Ruthenian-Slavonic usage. Changing to Theotokos from Mother of God is one issue in itself, and I could probably live with that particular change. While I attended the sessions yesterday, I brought my archival books.
These would be the Rev. Ivan Boksai Cantor Joseph Malinich (yes Malinich and not Malinits as was spelled on the hand-outs.) Prostopinije book, Sister

... Roccasalvo "The Plainchant Tradition of Southwestern Rus'" book, Duchnovich's "Chlib Dushi", a reprint of the 1905 L'vov priestly Liturgicon. Duchnovich actually used "His all-holy Mother" which is translated from the Slavonic usage as "Matere". While Mr. Thompson gave a good regugitation of Sister Roccasalvo's book, he didn't state from where does the music written (especially the beginning of Great Vespers) comes from for the vesper booklet he created. Also, everyone who spoke went out of their way to deflect any responsibility for the liturgical and musical changes. It seems to me that a few priests and individuals own preferences are being forced upon the entire Metropolia. It was even admitted that these new translations will still differ greatly from the Ukrainian-Byzantine Catholic Church English translations used by them in their Metropolitan Province. So what have we gained?? If these were really necessary chnges, then the entire Ruthenian Recension would also be making these changes. I still am not convinced these changes are neceassary.
