George W. Bush has been quiet about his successor.
"I'm not going to spend my time criticizing him. There are plenty of critics in the arena," Bush said last week during a trip to Canada. "He deserves my silence. ... I think it is essential that he be helped in office."

Spoken like a true gentleman...an adjective which isn't aspired to by that many men anywhere these days--Byzcath men excluded, ofcourse!

This is either a brilliant political move (but what office could he be seeking?) or that he is exercising humility.

I always did prefer Bush to Obama. I rember Obamas relentless Critism of Bush. I find this apalling. Pity peole will continue to bash Bush...

That was what his dad did too. He never seemed to be critical, but only positive as much as possible in public.

I am sure going to miss Pres. Bush. I disagreed with him often enough, but I would take him for two more terms before the children we have in the white house right now.

If you step back and look at how each party treats the other that is office over the past few months, it is clear who is the one practicing humility and Christianity and who isn't.

Obama still gets in front of the podium and plays the blame game and smear campaign to try and bring himself into the light.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
It sounds like President Bush has been attending a few Presanctified Liturgies:
"O Lord set a guard before my mouth, and set a seal on the door of my lips".

Indeed, even if knowing that saying something against someone will be in our best interest to defend us, or preserve our name, we must still keep guard over our lips...the indignity we may suffer for doing this will eventually be a blessing for our souls...and this is what former Pres. Bush did, and this is something that we all must do, if we haven't already.

To do this in our personal lives is difficult and humbling enough, so I cannot imagine how much more difficult and humbling it must be for someone in the public and political eye.

There was a time in America when people were brought up with the credo (very Christian in ethos): 'If you have nothing good to say about someone, don't say anything at all'

Where I hail from, we call that "class."
