I am looking for a good Slavic Usage Priest/Deacon Service book in English.
Can anyone make a suggestion? I currently have the Liturgikon, but that is kind of difficult to use, since it is the Greek Usage and only has the Slavic Usage in footnotes.
Anyone know what ROCOR and OCA use?

I've been somewhere online where there were hard bound editions of the DL of both St. John Chrysostom and St. Basil the Great published by both ROCOR and the OCA. But I can't seem to find them tonight. Been a long day. Sorry.

There is also a Priest's Service Book for the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom and for the Priest's Service Book for the All-Night Vigil, in Fr Lawrence's translation published by and carried by Jordanville. (The latter volume actually covers the Horologion services, not just the Vigil Service.) There is also a Priest's Service Book for the Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great in Fr Lawrence's translation carried by Jordanville, but published by Monastery Press in Canada. All these Sluzhebniks are also sold by the Hermitage of the Holy Cross in West Virginia. Their service may be more consistent and reliable. They also all speak English in West Virginia. Just for openers, try starting with Isabel Hapgood's Service Book.

Fr. Serge Very good suggestion, Fr Serge. It is reprinted by the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese in Englewood, New Jersey, and is available there and at many Orthodox suppliers. Fr David Straut

Isabel Hapgood's Service Book (or just "Hapgood", as it is usually called) was produced over 100 years ago and is far from perfect, but has given the Church very good service over the decades and still has its uses. It's translated from Church-Slavonic and usually gives the Nikonian forms.
As for Ms. Hapgood's style of English, try this for size:
"Come, let us quaff a beverage new!"

Dear Fr. Serge. I actually have a copy of the Hapgood, but I was looking for something a bit more usable in a parish setting

"Come, let us quaff a beverage new!" Fr. Serge: After Pascha, maybe that might be a good thing to do. It's a bit old-fashioned, but if you were to say to me I'd know you meant we ought to go out for a beer or open a good wine. If you happen to be in the States this summer, we'll be having the kielbassa judging picnic again sometime this summer. And we'll be "quaffing." BOB

Here's a website for a place near Buffalo, New York. They have a very large selection of things, including books for both Orthodox and Eastern Catholic usage. You might find something here you might like http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladvisor.com/storefrontprofiles/default.aspx?sfid=78319They also have other wonderful things--the Christmas Ornament section is incredible. They have Orthodox Church ornaments, Ruthenian Church ornaments, The Nativity Icon in Ornament form and many other things. Well worth looking at. Tim

Why not quaff a Singapore Sling?
