Ever blessing the Lord, we praise His Resurrection, for by enduring the Cross for us, He has destroyed death by death!

Better, as it is now, each to simply celebrate in peace and sing well "It is the Resurrection day. Let us be enlightened by this feast, and let us embrace one another. Let us call brethren even those who hate us, and in the Resurrection, forgive everything and let us sing: Christ is risen from the dead, by death He trampled death, and to those in the tombs, He granted life."

there have been many fun thread in the past about' real 'Pascha , the 'true' Calendar etc etc - and all have always been read as fun posts.

I do not think anyone has ever taken offense - I could of course be wrong - but I don't think I am .

Thanks for informing us that the Real EASTER is now being celebrated. I wonder how it would have gone over on this forum if some insensitive, possibly augmentative individual had decided to be so dismissive of other fellow Christians that he would have started a thread a week ago entitled "Happy Real Pascha"?

Better, as it is now, each to simply celebrate in peace and sing well "It is the Resurrection day. Let us be enlightened by this feast, and let us embrace one another. Let us call brethren even those who hate us, and in the Resurrection, forgive everything and let us sing: Christ is risen from the dead, by death He trampled death, and to those in the tombs, He granted life."
Dear ajk,

Please lighten up! There was a smile at the beginning of my post!

I most heartily and warmly second Father David's motion. If we may not be light-hearted on this Day of Days, then when may we be light-hearted? Those who feel themselves unable to rejoice with us in this Feast of Feasts could at least have the common courtesy to allow us to rejoice without throwing verbal brickbats at us.

CHRIST IS RISEN!

Quasimodo is the first word of the Introit for Low Sunday... Just as Laetare Sunday in Lent and Gaudete Sunday in Advent.

Thus the first words that the congregation would have heard from the schola or the priest were the words "Quasimodo geniti infantes..." - "As newborn babes..."

In former times of the Augustine-era catechumenate, this Second Sunday of Easter (formerly more popularly "Low Sunday," now "Divine Mercy Sunday") was the day that the newly baptized - the newborn babes - laid aside their white baptismal garments.

Christos Anesti!

Alithos Anesti!

May we all celebrate our Lord's Resurrection together now...in joy, in good-natured humour, and in love.
