Diaconessa Mary Lawlor passed into eternal rest a few days ago. Mary was a wonderfully sweet and holy woman who actively participated in the life of the Melkite Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation for all of the four decades that her late husband, Protodeacon Paul, served the Cathedral and the Eparchy.
May her memory be eternal and may her family be comforted that she is now in heaven with her beloved Paul. Her beautiful Irish smile will be greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.
"One day all our ethnic traits ... will have disappeared. Time itself is seeing to this. And so we can not think of our communities as ethnic parishes, ... unless we wish to assure the death of our community."

She was, indeed, a lovely and gracious lady.
May her memory be eternal.
