Stephanos- Well, I was told by a trustworthy guy, one of the friars who snuck into the choir loft.
The icon is "Mother of God, Ever-Blooming Rose"; it is Russian, though I have seen a Greek version of it. I came across it in a small Orthodox church in Canton. I asked the priest if I could make a tracing and he instead made a photocopy, from which I painted this, a gift to my daughter, Maria Rose. It is in our icon corner....

Dear Iconophile,

I absolutely believe you.

I have heard and seen wierd things happen, though in my own instances, they do not scare me.
As my monastic friends say, "oh it is just the evil one again". (Did I ever tell you the one about the first journey my husband and I made for confession at a monastery, and how a rock came out of nowhere to make a huge crack on the driver side windshield, which then needed replacing.)

God never allows His people to actually be hurt in these little attacks. Our monastic friends know fully well, and more so, of these type of things.

In Christ,
Alice
