The theology section is at:

I also... I'm not sure people will like this, but I thought someone here might like a link to "Pope Makes Historic Ecumenical Bid to Woo Eastern Rite Catholics" at:

Jonathan,
Welcome. I liked reading what I read of your "religion and science" post.
I have wondered how a scholar could approach Scripture or the Fathers "scientifically" when their careless dissection of texts too often removes the heart. I have an affinity towards St. Aquinas and see this "scientific" approach used towards the study of his works. The end result is that the critics make themselves far more difficult to understand than the saint and their focus on the philosophy tends to dismiss the essential theology.

Welcome, Jonathan, to the board! Very interesting site and articles. As to the article on Eastern Rite Catholics...you've touched a nerve, all right . There are a few issues of terminology that some may disagree about. Also, there's been some progress on ordaining married men to the priesthood here in the US. As I understand the current situation, it is now possible for US Eastern Catholic bishops to obtain permission from Rome for ordaining married men on a case by case basis. That is an improvement over the situation from 15 years or so ago. Still, humor always has its place and I enjoyed reading many of your articles. Again, welcome!

Thank you all for your welcome; I hoped my post wouldn't be too obnoxious.
After writing it, I realized that it was clever but not really prayerful... my next post, http://JonathansCorner.com/silence/ was meant to be more prayerful writing.

silence [ jonathanscorner.com] so I can find it easier I know for myself, and how often I fail, that if I anchor my day in the Psalms and the prayers of the Church...wow, what an awesome day it turns out to be. We need that steadfastness of quiet in our daily lives to get rid of the ever higher racheting of noise that world brings. Amazing it is what a 'bit' of quiet time with Jesus can do to nourish not just us but the world. For when and as often as we spend time with Jesus in prayer, we are also allowing the world to spend time with Jesus in prayer.
