Gentlemen,
I regret having to post this - so please excuse the very formal language.
I have been a member of this Board , according to my profile, since 3 November 2001 - in fact I was here before then - but "the Great Crash ' caused problems and the Board was reborn in November 2001
It used to be a good place to be - there were light hearted threads and serious ones too. A lot of learning was obtainable here , and I enjoyed my time here.
Of recent months however things have changed drastically . Byzcath is now political and there are less and less people posting on matters of Faith .
Today I logged in and found a thread on Town Hall about the standards of Medical care in the UK - and this was not the NHS I know and in which I served from 1959 to 2002 .
Yes everyone's experiences are different - and I do not believe everything posted in the Daily Mail . That midwife had various lines of complaint and / or help open to her - her Professional Body would have helped if she had asked for their help - I don't know if she did , so I cannot comment .
Frankly that thread has finally sickened me - you are attacking the Health Care of another country - and as I understand it your own system is not much better - if it is , in fact, better.
You are ignoring the comments made by people living in the UK - indeed you are poo poohing our comments - we know nothing - yes the sarcasm is intended as it was in my earlier post , and which you chose to ignore.
I refuse to make any comments regarding the posts by certain individuals - I would be put into immediate Full Moderation [ if not banned outright ] if I dared speak what is in my mind.
With this I say regretfully ,
Farewell , may God be with you all
Anhelyna

I'm sorry to see you go, at times I find myself in similar situations, because I too came here for discussions on faith, not politics.

Actually the political discussions come and go with the election cycles, and whenever something important is happening in Congress. There is nothing new with these cycles and as Christians they are very legitimate discussions here. Those who are bothered by them should not participate in them.
No one has ignored Angela's experience (but I look to the official British studies for my comments on the problems of British health care) but if she feels that way and must leave I wish her the Lord's choicest blessings in all things.

I will say that I agree with Angela.
I think that the political discussions are no longer cyclical but have become constant. I agree that it is important that our faith inform our politics, but I think that the political aspect of the discussions on this board long ago shut down the faith aspect of them. Except, of course, for those discussions that devolve into questioning how someone who holds a different opinion can claim to be a Christian.
It seems to me as though topics are raised NOT with the intent of discussing them as Christians, but with the intent of stirring anger at one side or expressing frustration with another.
For the most part, I don't read the political threads, but their dominance has driven me to visit the forum less frequently.
Anhelyna: You go with my prayers and love. I hope we can stay in touch through other means.

I do agree with Anhelyna to a certain extent. Many political threads, such as Helen's recently, have seemed intent stirring up trouble and trying to pick fights (which is why, if you've noticed, I haven't posted on any of her threads - there is little of a positive nature that I could contribute).
But it's true too that I've always advocated people just stay away from threads they don't like, and as long as the moderators and Admin do their job at making sure that no threads are anti-Christian and needlessly divisive, then I don't see a huge problem. I do think some posts teeter on the edge of needless divisiveness, though.
Anhelyna, go with God! You will be in my prayers, and I am thankful for your prayers for me throughout these years as well.
Alexis
