Truly an interesting article. Makes one wonder in light of the animals through the centuries that have protected people. ...Gaining momentum, they rampaged through other non-Christian homes, demolishing gardens and singling out the home of persecutors, leaving Christian homes untouched. These strange attacks have spread, and according to a report, the elephants have already destroyed more than 700 houses in 30 villages, and killed five people. Nobody in this area has seen or even imagined the unique appearance of a herd of wild elephants such as this. The elephants are not ordinary elephants; they appear to be on a mission. Typically, smaller elephants enter a village first, appearing to survey the community. They then rejoin the larger herd, and larger elephant soon follow and get the job done. The ministry partner in India stated “We think that it might have something to do with the avenging the blood of martyrs. In fact the fear of God has fallen on the local people, who have labeled these elephants “Christian elephants.”... elephants [ americaneedsfatima.org]

Reading this bizarre story, I am put in mind of the seraph serpents God sent into the wilderness to attack the rebellious Israelites as well as the story from the Acts of the Apostles where God struck dead Annanias and his wife Sapphira, who had been guilty of lying to the apostle Peter.
Whatever natural explanation there my be of this phenomenon, who's to say God didn't send these rampaging elephants to warn the heathens against further persecution of Christians?

I'd like to add that Hindus worship an elephant-headed "god" nmaed Genesha.

I thought "Ganapathi" was the name of this weird elephantine "deity".

They are alternative names for the same diety. Ganesha or Ganapathi [hinduwebsite.com]Many years, Neil

Since elephants cannot undergo Baptism, it therefore follows that Baptism is not a pre-requisite for defending oppressed Christians.
I believe in both the mercy of God and His righteous vengeance.
We just don't know for sure if the rampaging elephants were sent by God to tave revenge on the heathen persecutors. And we can't rule it out, either.
I just happen to think it's a cool story. If it ain't true it oughtta be. LOL

They've always been my favorite animals, just edging out house cats.
