Hello all,
Christ is risen!
I recently became a member of the Forum and wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Scott, and I am a recent convert to the Melkite Catholic Church. I was born into a Missouri-Synod Lutheran family and became Latin Catholic about 20 years ago. I have always had an attraction to the East, but it wasn't until a good friend of mine converted to Orthodoxy that I started really investigating it. I found a great treasure!
I started attending the Divine Liturgy with the Melkite Community in my city, and after a year, I decided that I wanted to embrace fully the liturgical, theological, and spiritual patrimony of the Melkites. On Thomas Sunday this year, the Transfer of Ascription was completed.
I am very happy to be part of the East fully. There are still many things that I am learning about Eastern praxis and how to integrate that into my life, so I hope membership here will be of help to me. I would like to be able to have a place to exchange thoughts and ideas on these topics that I have come to love.
Thank you in advance for all your help and prayers. I look forward to meeting and speaking with you all in cyberspace.
Yours in Christ, Our Risen Lord,
Scott
