The "Major Archbishop" of the Ukrainians is known as Patriarch Lubomyr, and the "Major Archbishop" of the Malankarese is known as Catholicos (Vasileos, I think). As for the Romanian and Malabarese, judging by the photographs one can understand why some people would rank them with Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. There is a serious hope for a recovery of the Romanian Greek-Catholics, but the Syro-Malabarese seem to be a lost cause.

The bureaucrats in Rome have been coming up with half-baked excuses for declining to recognize a Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Patriarcate for a good four centuries. A certain degree of exhaustion with this nonsense influences the action of many Ukrainian Greek-Catholics into their own hands. Enough, ultimately, is enough.

I heartily agree they should take the matter into there own hands elect a Patriarch and present him to Rome, fait accompli voila!
