Congratulations to Archon of the Ecumenical Throne, Michael Kundrat of St. Michael's Binghamton who will be awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree on the 65th anniversary of the founding of the University of Uzhorod on Monday, October 18th.
The degree is being awarded to Michael in recognition of his outstanding leadership in assisting the Uzhorod Regional Medical Center in acquiring desperately needed medical equipment and supplies through the State Department’s Operation Hope program. He has also played a major role in assisting in the development of the medical library and clinic.
Michael is a long time member of the CR/S. During World War 2 he was a partisan in Slovakia, fighting the Nazis. Long active in ACROD and among Rusyns in America he has also spearheaded fundraising and supply drives to support the Orthodox Children's Home in Medzilaborce in their mission to serve the Roma community in Eastern Slovakia.
He will be joined on his journey by his sons, Michael and Joseph and by Dr. Nicholas Seketa.
Mr. Kundrat is a member of St. Michael's Church of Binghamton, NY

Axios! May God grant many years to His servant, Michael, in thanks for all that he has done for God's children. What a great life of caring he has lived!
