Egyptian Man Gets Death Sentence for Killing Christians
A court in southern Egypt has sentenced a Muslim man to death for his role in the killing one year ago of six Coptic Christians and a Muslim policeman.
The man, Mohamed Ahmed Hussein, is one of three charged in the drive-by shooting that occurred January 6, 2010, in the Egyptian town of Nagaa Hammadi. The other two are to be sentenced next month.

The risk to all Egyptians from Islamic extremists will increase if Mubarak does not effect a peaceful transition of power. It is not clear, though, just how much support the Muslim Brotherhood actually has. When they were the sole voice of opposition, it was one thing, but with a broad-based popular uprising, the majority of Egyptians may look askance at exchanging one set of authoritarian thugs for another.

It is a sign that, nevertheless what Obama and Clinton say, the revolution in Egypt will not upheld democracy but the sharia I find that very sad and disappointing, as many atrocities have happened under Mubarak. I don't believe for a moment that Christ would have done the same.

If they take sides, they are going to get it no matter who wins: if the revolution fails, Mubarak will have no reason to even pretend to offer them protection; he'll come down on them like a ton of bricks. And if the revolution succeeds, then extremists among both the winners and losers will dump on the Copts as convenient scapegoats for everything that goes wrong.
