I remain unclear abt. the "conversion of Russia." Does that mean the Russians are to switch over en masse to the Latin Catholic Church (IMO not too likely, or even necessarily desirable) or does it mean their re-discovery and full embrace of their Orthodox heritage? If individual Russians sincerely and out of conviction wish to become members of the Latin Church - or, for that matter, any of the ECCs - well that's OK by me and they ought to be able to exercise the right to do so. Just as I think Catholics who wish to join the Orthodox Church under the same circumstances ought to be allowed to do so.
Also I do not understand/appreciate the devotion to the "Immaculate Heart of Mary". I'm not being snarky - I just don't get it.

Actually the mind of the Church as expressed by the Code requires that one who comes into full communion with the Catholic Church from one of the Orthodox Churches must retain his 'rite', e.g. a Russian Orthodox upon reception becomes Russian Rite Catholic not Latin. This prescription of the law is unfortunately more honored in the breach!

I guess I wasn't being too clear in my earlier post (in which I mention the possibility of Russians becoming Latin Catholics) - I did not mean those who are already Orthodox but rather those who have never been baptised & consequently do not belong to ANY Church.
I am not a fan of proselytizing the Orthodox to become Catholics.

In 1946 during a gathering of youth at Fatima, Sister Lucia, the surviving visionary at the time, was asked by a young Russian girl (Natacha Derfelden) how the conversion of Russia would come about. Sister Lucia stated that the conversion of Russia would come through the Orthodox Church and "the Oriental rite", meaning the Byzantine Catholic Church.

I remain unclear abt. the "conversion of Russia." I was taught that the "conversion of Russia" mean that the nation would turn from Godless Communism and return to being the most religious country in Europe as it was before the Revolution. Bob
