Sherman Hemsley, who played George Jefferson on The Jeffersons and All in the Family and Deacon Ernest Frye on Amen, passed away today at his home.

"The Jeffersons" almost always got to to rolling around on the floor, I found it that hilarious. May Sherman Helmsley's memory be eternal, indeed.

The first few lines of the theme song are in some ways a fitting send off for this legendary role actor:

Well we're movin' on up,
to the East Side,
to a de-luxe apartment in the sky ...

We pray that he is now enjoying the good life in heaven.

Eternal memory!

Eternal memory to a wonderful actor who brought much laughter and joy to folks.
