http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1204741.htmHow far should we listen to the Vatican? Why were they fooled in '08 when many people knew better about Obamalamadingdong? (Sorry I couldn't resist.)

As usual, the Vatican and its official organs are utterly clueless when it comes to American culture and politics. Of course, by Italian standards, we are the epitome of unity and stability itself, but truth be told, this was a highly divisive election with a highly divisive outcome--a bare popular majority for the President (about 18% fewer votes than he garnered in 2008), and the lowest turnout since 1996. Half of the population is demoralized and apathetic; the remaining half is split right down the middle, with apparently irreconcilable philosophical differences.

Well, I'm sure we'd better listen to the Word of the Vatican and the Divine Lord much more than listening to the bunch of riff-raff in Washington trying to push us around. Sure, we're treated like second-class citizens to them, but at least we have a clear message that we aren't going down without Fighting the Good Fight on our side.
