In light of Pope Francis' just completed apostolic visit to Hungary, I found this video that shows clips of Pope Saint John Paul II celebrating Divine Liturgy at Máriapócs on August 18, 1991: Szent II. János Pál pápa 25 éve látogatott Máriapócsra [youtube.com]

Very cool! And Pope Francis was the "Bishop of Argentina, Faithful of the Eastern Ritesin Argentina" (https://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/bishop/bbergj.html), so he is very familiar with the Byzantine tradition. John Paul II had great love for the Eastern Churches.

On April 3, 2005, the day after Pope Saint John Paul II fell asleep in the Lord, a Divine Liturgy was offered for the repose of his soul with Bishop Miguel Mykycej, then-eparch of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Santa María del Patrocinio in Buenos Aires, and then-Cardinal Jorge Maria Bergolglio concelebrating.

Click here. [donorione.org] Then click where it says in red "Vedi tutte le foto". It will take you to a slide show of 5 photos.

You will see that the now-Pope of Rome is wearing Eastern liturgical vestments but wearing his favorite --and now famous-- mitre.
