Dear Friends,

It is good to hear how many of you are interested in the Akathists to St Therese of Lisieux!

The Akathists I mentioned previously are only available in Ukrainian, unfortunately.

I checked with the Basilian Press, and they are currently out of them, although "Svichado" in L'viv apparently has them or can get a hold of them.

God bless,

Alex

Alex,

There are two akathists in Ukrainian online: Akathist 1 [molytva.at.ua] and Akathist 2 [teresa.oleh-sj.com]

(Any chance of translating one of the akathists for the benefit of us who have a devotion to the Little Flower? smile )

Plus, I found what looks like an unfinished akathist in Russian [tapirr.livejournal.com] written by a now deceased Russian Orthodox priest on the occasion of the visitation of St. Thérèse's relics to Russia.

Slava Isusu Khrystu!

I fully agree that it would be wonderful to have at least one of these Akathists in honour of Sainte Therese translated into English!!!!!

I'll get to work to translate the first Akathist (which is definitely the better of the two).

Xpucmoc noceped Hac! (Slippery "makeshift" Ukrainian Cyrillic)

Yeah. I'm not sure if Google Translate would help a bit with translating the Akathist from Ukrainian to English...but, if it could even be downgraded to Old Slavonic for those who worship in the old language, it would also be something that could even be used.

Dear Bob,

It won't take me that long to translate it. I find Google does a terrible job of translation.

I'm not what I used to be in terms of "get up and go." But I will translate it!

Alex,

Any chance the akathist will be translated in time for the feast of Saint Thérèse next month?

I found this Akathist to Saint Thérèse in English. [necatholic.blogspot.com]

It appears to be its own Akathist and not a translation from the Ukrainian Akathists posted above.
