I like the idea of yogurt mixed with Avocado. I am going to try it...as much as I love mayonnaise, if it isn't homemade, it has bad ingredients in it like GMO soybean oil. frown

Just found this awesome hummus at a supermarket and it is delicious: organic, no GMO's, and they use olive oil instead of bad for you and genetically modified soybean oil and/or canola oil, that seems to be in everything prepared these days:

Pani Rose,

Thanks for the info! I think I need to get to the store for some dark chocolate and peanut butter! Greek yogurt with some cinnamon on top sounds real good too!

God bless,

David

I'm glad it helped David!

Now this is the way to do it, not GMOs. Brazil is on the ball.

Biofortification uses conventional plant-breeding methods to enhance the concentration of micronutrients in food crops through a combination of laboratory and agricultural techniques.

Pani Rose,

I have just gone to the library and picked up some cookbooks on Mediterranean cooking. I'm serious about this diet thing, but I need food with flavor! Most American food is too bland. Olive oil, roasted vegetables, rice, cilantro, and so on. Here we go!

God bless,
David

I just realized that your moniker meant that you are from Maryland and not a doctor! Just like it took me a while before I realized our friend ByzanTN was from Tennessee
rather than a byzantine teen! grin

Ofcourse, I am a bit biased, being ethnically Mediterranean, but Mediterranean food is indeed awesome in flavor and health. I love roasted vegetables! Cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, string beans, red peppers, onions, potatoes, yams, brussel sprouts--I have roasted all of these with a little Extra Virgin olive oil and sea salt....SO delicious AND nutritious!! wink

Alice,
Yes I realize now I should have made a D a small d. I do not want to give the wrong impression. I'm not sure if I can even change it. I am low-tech!
The diet is off to a slow start but the motivation is still very much there. The food is wonderful!

God bless,
David
