Dear Friends,
I want to find out more about the tradition of the pectoral Cross in our Church.
Why is the Cross hung down so far on the neck? I understand that the chain is almost always 30 inches long with the Cross 3 inches. 33 inches signifying the years our Lord lived on the earth among us?
Alex

Alex Alex, I'm surprised at you. The 33 inches must be a coincidence or an "Americanism". The rest of the "educated world" uses the metric system. Do the Canadian or European bishops use a 33cm length? John
