Al-Nusra, which the United States funds and has trained, has joined forces with ISIS, the brutal terrorists (crucifying, beheading, killing) who have declared a caliphate.

The caliphate map would include European countries, such as Greece, the Balkan countries, Spain, etc.

article and map here [dailymail.co.uk]

I don't think this is a matter to take lightly, either for those poor people who are suffering unspeakably and unimaginably right now in Syria and Iraq or for the rest of the world-- anymore than Hitler was a laughing matter.

It may or may not happen (civil wars to take over countries), but it is frightening.

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople lives in a Muslim country (albeit officially secular) and there are Muslims living throughout Europe. Who knows what madness can happen.

I pray it doesn't. However, it seems to be too late for Christians in the Middle East.

Lord have mercy!

I hate to sound like an imperialist bigot, but most Muslim countries have enough difficulties running themselves, let alone conquering non-Muslim countries. The hotheads in them are not made of the same stuff as the earliest generation of Muslims were who did effect conquest. While the goal is unachievable, I would agree that the efforts to reach it should be taken seriously. I don't like the US getting into another mid-East conflict. The US's intentions would not be about stopping Islam and protecting Christendom anyway, but some liberal democratic (in the older sense of the words) excuse.
