Someone has probably asked this before (and been answered), so if that's the case, please forgive me for asking again and direct me to the appropriate thread. What I'm curious about is how Vatican II has impacted, for better or worse, the Eastern Catholic Churches.

Thanks!

In Christ,
JM

Glory to Jesus Christ,

The Second Vatican Council has impacted the Eastern Catholic Churches in many positive ways. The Councils Document on the Eastern Churches entitled Orientalium Ecclesiarum [vatican.va] is well worth readings. I see the document as liberating and calling the Eastern Catholic Churches to be fully Eastern and to return to our authentic liturgical and theological traditions.

After the Council an important liturgical document was issued entitled]nstructions for Applying the Liturgical Prescriptions of the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches which I think sheds some light on what the Council called the Eastern Catholics Churches to be.

Also, the Melkite Church played a prominent role at the Council. See Fr. Saba's book The Melkites at the Vatican Council II.

Glory Forever!

Thank you!!! I've bookmarked both of those and will read them when I can and will check out Fr. Saba's book.

Any other sources/resources, especially dealing with things as perceived since the Council from an Eastern Catholic perspective would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

JM
